Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Getting Started:
Object-oriented Programming

Syntax checking, compiling, and running a class

When you save a class file in the editor or manually initiate a syntax check, any syntax errors are highlighted in the editor using a red circle during editing, as shown for the SupportClass destructor. If you enable the Save R-code option for the project, the class file, including its entire class hierarchy is compiled and built in the target r-code directory. The exact location is relative to the project and the class type name. You can run a class by using the Run toolbar icon (green circle with triangle).

For more information on class topics, such as creating a new class, OpenEdge Architect online help.
